New Restaurant opens in Perryville the Itchy Dog Cafe & Antiques!

In downtown Perryville, visitors walked the streets, stopping in some of the shops, including the Itchy Dog Cafe and Antiques, a restaurant that opened on Merchants’ Row on Saturday.

Co-owner Jennifer Lanham said she and her husband, Chad, chose to open the restaurant this weekend because with the battle re-enactment there would be a lot of people in town. A grand opening will be scheduled later.

The restaurant offers many home-cooked and made-from-scratch items, including zucchini bread, that Jennifer said is of her own creation, and pork roast.

Jennifer said she has always wanted to own her own business and after going back to school to get a business degree, she felt she was at a point in her life when she had the confidence to open a restaurant.

“It really empowered me,” she said. “There wasn’t much in life I couldn’t do.”

The Itchy Dog Cafe is open Wednesday through Sunday, hours vary.
